CVJP “Community Veterans Justice Project”
CVJP provides free assistance to veterans who are navigating pending criminal cases. The NEW California military / diversion statute, PC 1001.36 allows every criminal court to be a mental health / treatment court. CVJ Project’s primary mission is to help veterans use those statutes (for alternative sentencing/diversion), to get help, one on one support as soon as possible, and the services they need: VA benefits, discharge upgrades, housing, etc.
Internships:
The CVJP utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to supporting veterans. We have hosted Masters of Social Work interns, Law Clerks, business students and more. Our project welcomes a variety of educational backgrounds and will work with you to develop an internship that meets your needs and will add to the CVJP.
